Mzuzu City Council is a corporate body established under the Local Government Act of 1998

The institution provides a wide range of services and activities including formulation of policy and decisions, promotion of infrastructure and economic developments through the approval and execution of the Development Plans, mobilization of resources, formulation of the by-laws and provision of Primary Education services and Medical Health Care.
