Today, we have launched distribution of maize under the Lean Season Food Insecurity Program which is expected to benefit about households in Mzuzu City.
The Malawi Government through the Department of Disaster Management Affairs is championing the maize distribution exercise to cushion hunger in vulnerable households in the City.
Launching the exercise at Mzuzu Stadium, His Worship the Mayor, Chiyembekezo Moses thanked government for considering the people of Mzuzu with food assistance. He urged the beneficieries of program, local structures and those involved in the identification of the beneficiaries to desist from abusing program.
The meeting was witnessed by Concilliors, The Council’s Chief Executive Officer, Block leaders, members of the City Level Disaster Risk Management Committee and other structures.
